Interesting reading for you to try whether online or in hard copy. We hope you’ll find something that’s interesting, inspiring and possibly life changing.
We recommend all of these books as worth reading, but not all will suit everyone’s taste.
Prof Steve Peters worked with the British Cycling team and many credit him with their amazing results at world and Olympic levels. Interesting reading about how our brain works and how we do so much on automatic pilot. Once we realise this we can recognise and change our behaviours.
Gary Chapman writes that there are five basic character traits that effect our relationships. We all are more influenced by some than others. If you know what works for your partner you’ll be able to spend more time on what works best for them. The five are: Words of Affirmation, Acts of Service, Physical Touch, Quality Time and Receiving Gifts. Really good read – the book can be used for work/ child & parent and any other type of relationship, if you use your imagination a little. If physical touch is your bosses go to you might need to be REALLY careful with that!!!
John Gray writes about the different ways in which men and women view the world. This helps explain why men ‘retreat’ into their cave at times and women want to talk things out. This different way of approaching things can lead to misunderstandings on both sides. Men need to learn how to communicate better – even if that’s saying I don’t want to talk right now, can we talk later. Women need to learn to wait for the right time for their men to talk – they will when they’re ready.
