Happy New Year everyone!!!
So it’s already the 5th January and the New Year is well and truly under way. Have you started a New Year’s resolutions? Now’s a great time to be thinking about the year ahead. Setting new goals and outlooks for the coming year. Large or small thinking about change is a great thing to do any time of year.
If you’ve looked at my profile picture, or know me, you’ll have realised I’ve seen a few New Years in my time!!! With this in mind I’ve come to the conclusion that I can start a new idea or goal any time, and so have not been doing resolutions for quite a while. Many people find maintaining a new years resolution hard. Then a couple of years ago I heard of a great idea, an alternative to New Year’s resolutions. It’s a ‘word’ for the year.
So last year my word was ‘Focus’.
Less multi-tasking and more doing one thing at a time. There’s loads of studies to show why multi-tasking doesn’t work. It’s called ‘task switching’ in the scientific community – if you don’t believe multi-tasking is inefficient read this.
Anyway, I digress. My word for 2021 is gonna be ‘Consistency’ – the quality of always behaving or performing in a similar way. I tell you this to hopefully help you, but also to help myself…… A public declaration is a lot easier to sustain. Especially when you’re making it as the owner/ writer of a self improvement website!!! So I’m telling you that I will be consistent, I’ll continue to be 99% Vegan and 95% sugar free – ok so no sane person gives up chocolate completely!!! Our blogs will be live at 8am every Tuesday and Friday. My marketing will go out on time – something I’ve always found difficult. And I’ll walk a minimum of four times per week.
If you want to make a public declaration
You can make this year’s New Year’s resolutions below, or on Facebook or tell a friend. Or you can make a written record for yourself. Whatever you do, do something. Make a choice, a conscious decision to improve you life, even if it’s just a little, make it achievable, make it worthwhile. And make it now.
I hope you can make – and keep your New Year’s resolutions this year. Have an awesome 2021.
Love and peace,
Paul
